About the Role

JOB OBJECTIVE:

• Organizes and take responsibility for all technical aspects of the business.
• Incumbent in this role has the responsibility to ensure that the Company delivers a quality product on time and within budget through the effective process design.
• Incumbent will be responsible to provide key technical leadership and mentoring of the Process Engineering Department personnel. The purpose of the position is to review and challenge to the optimum design solutions according to the technical requirements described in the Customer Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Product Design Specification.
• It is the goal of the position to establish Crescent Engineering as the premier value-added provider of Energy equipment solutions in the markets we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To represent Crescents’ Mission, Corporate Values, Goals and Objectives by handling proposals activities during tendering phase and process activities during project execution.

• In depth knowledge of the Company’s product, design engineering, and service capabilities, as well as manufacturing and quality standards, so as to consistently and effectively determine, allocate, and utilise available resources through the effective and optimum process design solutions.
• Perform process simulations and develop P&ID, PFD & Heat & Material Balances and ensure all the required performance guarantees are met.
• Developing and Reviewing of P&ID, PFD, Datasheets and performing Line sizing calculation, Equipment sizing, Relief valve sizing, Pressure drop calculation, NPSH calculation.
• Performing Engineering activities by reviewing the Engineering documents/ project specification and generating the engineering deliverables
• Performing proposals and tendering activities which includes initial process design, cost estimation, cash flow and optimizing the delivery schedule.
• It is the responsibility of this position to perform an optimum process design by reviewing client ‘s Technical /Process requirements and thus establishing a detailed P&ID, PFD and HMB using design calculation during bidding phase.
• Organizes all process activities (i.e., design, integration, scope, time, cost, and quality) across multiple functional lines to include, but not limited to design engineering, manufacturing/operations (procurement of major buy out items, etc.), installation and/or construction, commissioning, and field service.
• Provide technical and commercial back up to Project teams. Maintain an active presence during project execution as a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Support Instrumentation and mechanical design team with process inputs by generating vessel datasheet, initial instrument lists, detailed control narratives, logic diagrams, cause & effects charts.
• Preparing the Pre/ Post Bid clarification responses and attending technical close out meeting to close the technical points.
• Reviewing sub vendor technical offers for bought out items in compliance to client’s specifications thus speeding up post award order placements.
• Supporting Sales and Project Management team on technical and commercial issues.
• Familiar with the local market and vendors locally to ensure timely support from them during bidding stage.
• Participation in HAZOP and SIL Study.
• Accountability for any Project overrun, if happen should highlight it to the Management.
• Works under the direction of the Project Manager to support all aspects in the Projects cycle for successful completion of project.
• Identify the risk during tendering activities and project execution through effective research, analysis, problem solving, dispute resolution, and negotiation techniques such that the customer remains satisfied yet any expense to the Company is minimized.
• Preparing a technical specification for buyout items. Negotiating with the sub vendor wrt to price and delivery. Monitoring the work progress of the sub vendors to ensure the timely delivery and order placement of subcomponents by them and this to be documented for Project Management review.
• Ensures daily/weekly/monthly reporting, as well as any other general correspondence, is communicated accurately, concisely, and in a form appropriate to the target audience.
• Allocates time efficiently and effectively keeping track of critical information, schedules, and deadlines.
• Monitoring and supervision during Construction activities with the inclusion of Erection, Commissioning, and Start up for the process plants supplied. Technically direct or assist in start-up, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Supporting all departments in the group where required.

Technical Excellence:
• In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas Engineering practices and Codes and Project Specifications:
o % of projects completed without technical errors due to design issues.
o Number of technical discrepancies identified during project reviews.
o Time taken to resolve technical issues identified during reviews.
• Process knowledge with proficiency in Hysys , In house design sheets:
o Accuracy rate of simulations and calculations performed using Hysys.
o % of projects completed within design criteria established in house design sheets.
o Number of revisions required to house design sheets due to errors.
• Review Technical specification for all Buy out items:
o % of buy-out items with identified technical discrepancies during review.
o Number of cost saving opportunities identified through technical review of buy-out items.
o Reduction in project delays due to buy-out item technical issues.
Accountability for Project Design, Costing and Project Schedule:
• On-time project completion rate.
• % of projects completed within budget.
• Accuracy of project design documents compared to initial specifications.
• Number of project scope changes required due to design errors.

Team Working and Self-Management:
• Meeting attendance and participation rate.
• Number of projects completed on time and within budget through effective teamwork.
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
• Positive feedback received from colleagues on collaboration and communication skills.

• Completion rate of assigned training programs related to Oil & Gas engineering practices, codes, and relevant software.

HSE Responsibilities:
• Comply with company Health, Safety & Environmental rules and procedures.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines established by the Company/OSHA; pursues safety initiatives in support of the Company’s vision of “zero accidents”; maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Ensure all HSE hazards and incidents are immediately reported to Line Manager Actively support to develop and maintain a positive health & safety culture within the organization.
• Ensure effective communication and open consultation with our suppliers, sub-contractors in relation to the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.\
• Take responsibility to provide a safe working environment to employees and to support the environmental protection initiatives of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably Chemical Engineering
• Minimum Six (6) to Eight (8) years of demonstrated success in the achievement of project management objectives within the process design, detailing, manufacturing, Commissioning and/or in Oil & Gas industries
